Born and educated in Hong Kong, Edward is admitted as a solicitor in Australia (NSW and SA), Hong Kong, and England & Wales. He began his career as a commercial litigator in Hong Kong before moving in-house, where he held senior positions—including General Counsel, Head of Legal, Director of M&A and Company Secretary—at prominent listed corporations in Hong Kong and Mainland China. His work has centred on cross-border M&A, corporate finance, and listing compliance, and he has advised Chinese enterprises on strategic overseas acquisitions. He has also served as the Legal and Executive Director of an ASX-listed gold mining company based in Perth
Edward provides comprehensive corporate and commercial legal services, including e-commerce and technology transactions, corporate governance and secretarial matters, franchising, intellectual property, data privacy, consumer law, employment law, commercial dispute resolution and litigation, and real estate transactions. He is also experienced in handling cross-border matters involving Australia, Hong Kong and Mainland China, particularly in relation to investment, commercial arrangements and regulatory compliance.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong, a Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the University of Technology Sydney, and a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of New South Wales.
Fully bilingual in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Edward advises and drafts with equal proficiency in both languages.
